CHARACTERIZATION OF DIFFERENT WC-Co CEMENTED-CARBIDE TOOLS

چکیده

This paper deals with the characterization of three different commercial, WC-Co cemented-carbide tools in form saw blades, one group which exhibits more frequent cracking. Since properties these materials largely depend on microstructure, a detailed was carried out using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and diffraction (XRD). The SEM image analysis included determination binder content mean WC grain area. average chemical composition also determined an fluorescence (XRF) analyser. results show that despite same binder-forming elements all materials, material cracked frequently contained smaller amount lower area, both are known to reduce toughness such material.
